This work has been nominated for the Women in Art Prize 2025
The painting “130” shows an older woman with her eyes closed, a reflection on the long struggle for equal rights.
Inspired by the gender pay gap, the work demonstrates that the pace of change is slow: at the current rate, it will take another 130 years for women to earn the same as men in the same job. The work invites reflection on the often invisible inequality and the feminist struggle that is far from over.
This oil painting is completely unique and authentic, hand-painted by portrait artist Carola Jansen. Every detail, from color to brushstroke, has been carefully crafted to capture the presence and emotion of the subject.

Paintings are very fragile and unique. Within the Netherlands and northern Belgium, paintings are therefore delivered personally as standard. This allows the recipient to view the work immediately and, if dissatisfied for any reason, cancel the purchase. The delivery date is always agreed upon.
